What is ACCREDIA?

ACCREDIA is the body designated by the Italian government to certify the competence, independence, and impartiality of organizations and laboratories that verify the conformity of measuring instruments.

What does it mean to be an ACCREDIA Accredited Laboratory?

Being an ACCREDIA accredited laboratory means being competent, independent, and impartial. This confers a high degree of reliability on the certificates issued in terms of the quality and safety of the goods and services inspected, and ensures their recognition in international markets.

In recent years, there has been an exponential increase in the demand for services offered by accredited laboratories in various sectors, from manufacturing to agri-food, from chemical to mechanical, by companies, public organizations, and consumers, both nationally and internationally, either by voluntary choice or by legal obligation.

How is accreditation obtained?

To obtain accreditation, a complex and articulated process must be followed, during which it is necessary to demonstrate compliance with all required standards through both on-site inspections and periodic monitoring over the four-year validity period of the accreditation.

Consistency and precision, care, and clarity of the required documentation are necessary to pass the initial examination and gain access to the inspections. Upon a positive outcome, the summary document of the evaluations is submitted to the competent Sectoral Accreditation Committee for review, to proceed with on-site and accompanying inspections.

After the verification procedures are completed, the ACCREDIA certificate is issued, valid for four years, during which the company is continuously monitored to ensure that the competency requirements are maintained.

Periodic monitoring by ACCREDIA allows accredited entities to monitor their competence and compliance with standards, providing a benchmark to continuously improve their performance and demonstrate the high quality of their work.

Which laboratories are part of the TECHNE ACCREDIA Center?

TECHNE has been the ACCREDIA Center LAT263 since 2017 for the calibration of sensors, calibrators, and indicators for temperature, and since 2021 for the calibration of hygrometers and thermo-hygrometers.
